Professor Wilson Muyinda Mande was last Wednesday (November 1, 2017) installed as vice-chancellor of Nkumba University. 

He becomes the forth vice chancellor that Nkumba has had since it started in 1994 replacing Associate Prof. Hannington Sengendo, who served in the same capacity. 

The function was presided over by the Chairperson Board of Trustees, Muhaamed Kalyango. In attendance also was Prof. Christine Dranzoa, Vice Chancellor of Muni University who presented the Nkumba University 18th Commencement Lecture under the theme: “The dilemma of choice: Options that the University student encounters in pursuit of self fulfilment” which came ahead of the University’s 20th graduation Ceremony. 

Until his new appointment as vice-chancellor, Prof. Mande was serving as the deputy vice-chancellor of the university from 2014 to 2016. He also served as Academic Registrar at Nkumba University from 2009 to 2013.
