Officials from the Kampala American center visited NU 0n 22nd Feb. to celebrate the achievements made by African - Americans to their country. A movie called 'Selma' was shown. It was about black activism and how Martin Luther King fought segregation of blacks in America through peaceful negotiations and non-violent demonstrations.Over 60 students and members of staff attended. Afterwards, there were discussions  and students really participated well. Booklets and pamphlets on: democracy, human rights,  US history, how to study in the US and how to become a member of the American center were distributed. All in all, it was a successful visit and we hope to have more of the same as students can benefit a lot in acquiring wide knowledge through such educational films.
