Emmanuel Katongole is a Ugandan entrepreneur who served as Founder Managing Director and Shareholder of Quality Chemicals Ltd from 1997 to 2007. As Chief Executive of the Company, he led a team of dedicated staff who transformed the company into a leading life sciences company in Africa dealing in importation and distribution of Animal healthcare products, Environmental science products and Human pharmaceuticals products. He is also the Founder CEO and currently the Executive Chairman and Shareholder of Cipla Quality Chemical Industries Ltd. This company manufactures HIV/AIDS and Anti-Malaria drugs and is the first such WHO Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) plant in sub-Saharan Africa.
Emmanuel is further involved in the food and beverage production industry under Vero Food Industries where he serves as Founder Company Chairman and Shareholder.

He is the Chairman of the Uganda National Oil Company which handles the state’s commercial interests in the oil and gas sector and is also the chairman of the Advisory Board of London Based TLG Capital which among other private equity engagements, runs a programmatic multi-million dollar fund to support progressive African enterprises.
He is currently the Chairman of the National Response Fund to Covid-19, Board Director of the Presidential CEO Forum and Board Director of Mauritius Union Assurance (MUA) – Uganda.
Emmanuel Katongole is a Rotarian and has steadily and diligently served his Rotary Club of Muyenga as President in 2006/2007, Assistant Governor 2009/2010, Chairman of the 2010/11 District Conference and Assembly and was the 2013/14 District Governor for Rotary District 9211 which comprises of Tanzania and Uganda. He was inducted into the Arch Klump society of The Rotary Foundation for his outstanding support to the Foundation’s humanitarian programmes. He further serves as an Endowment and Major Gifts Advisor to the Rotary Foundation.
Emmanuel Katongole won the Airtel Uganda Outstanding Humanitarian award 2017.
He was a finalist at the 2013 Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards hosted in Monte Carlo-Monaco and was thus inducted into the prestigious World entrepreneur of the year Hall of Fame.
He was the winner of the Africa Business Leadership Award 2012 organized by the Africa Development Bank and hosted in Arusha Tanzania and he also won the 2012 Africa Entrepreneurship Award hosted by the Africa Leadership Network based in South Africa and held in Accra-Ghana.
In 2015/2016, He emerged as the East Africa Regional winner in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Petrochemical sector of CEO Global’s Titans-Building Nations Awards. CEO Global is an international organization that recognizes entrepreneurs in Africa for their significant role in the sustainable development of the economy.
Emmanuel Katongole has in the past served as Chair or Member on Boards of a number of Schools, Faith based Institutions, Banks and Charity Organizations in Uganda including but not limited to being a member of the Board of Uganda National Referral Hospital Mulago 2010-2015), Chairman of Muteesa 1 Royal University Council (2010-to 2015), Board Member of Uganda Manufacturers Association (2010-2013), Vice Chairman of Uganda Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (2009-to 2015) and  None Executive Director of Barclays Bank Uganda (2018-2020).
Emmanuel Katongole holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economic Policy and Planning (MA-EPP) and a Bachelor of Statistics degree (B.Stat. Hons) both of Makerere University Kampala, Uganda. He has had a number of business related post graduate training courses both in Uganda and in Europe.
He is married to Resty Katongole and they are blessed with two sons and two daughters.
