Over 1,400 students graduated at Nkumba University on Saturday 27th October 2018. The Graduating Class was conferred degrees and awarded diplomas and certificates.   

An eminent personality was conferred the Honorary Doctor of Letters (D. Litt) for the outstanding contribution to the educational and social spheres in the Ugandan society. These include: a) Adoption of children orphaned by HIV/AIDS; b) Rehabilitation of a Health Centre IV to equip it train Clinical Officers to enhance the much needed medical personnel; c) Support of aviation training in Uganda; and, d)  Efforts to build the Albertine Indigenous Skill (ALIS) Museum to stimulate the rediscovery and application of indigenous technologies and skills. 

It was the 21st Graduation Ceremony since Nkumba University started in 1994. Students in the Graduating Class were matriculated in a range of disciplines from the School of Business Administration and Information Technology; School of Sciences; School of Education; School of Commercial, Industrial Art and Design; School of Social Sciences; and, School of Law.      

The ceremony was presided over by the Chancellor at the University main campus in Entebbe. Hon. Vincent Ssempijja, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries was the Guest of Honor at the graduation ceremony.

As is the norm at Nkumba University, outstanding students in sports and academic performance were recognized.
