Mr. Mohammad Reza, the Iran Cultural Attaché in Kampala, graced the occasion of welcoming the new Moslem students to Nkumba University on October 5, 2018. The function, organized by the University Muslim Students’ Association, was also attended by the Association Patron, Haji Gwaivu Twaha.

A joint expert team comprising of Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) and National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) from 5th November to 6th November 2018 undertook the peer review of Nkumba University School of Law LLB programme. The four-person team, led by Prof. Michael Nyogesa Wabwile from Egerton University, Kenya, also included: Mr. Joel Laurent from the Tanzania High Court; Prof. Preston Chitere Orieko from the University of Nairobi; and, Ms Faridah Bukirwa, NCHE representative and Secretary to the joint team. Nkumba University is one of the 13 universities in the East Africa region that subjected its academic programmes to the external peer review process in order to properly align their LLB programmes to agreed regional quality standards.

Nkumba University has organized an Open Day scheduled for Saturday April 6, 2019 to nurture the talents and enhance the skills of the youth, particularly for those in A’Level. 

The activities of the Open Day will take place at the Ceremonies Grounds, Main Campus, in Entebbe. 

 The theme for the Open Day is: “Development of Talents and Skills, Focusing on the Youth.”

Although the Open Day is aimed at mostly S. 6 students, there will be no restriction to entrance for any other secondary school students as well as members of the public. The University Alumni are specially urged to attend.

• Inspirations talks;

• Mentorship and guidance;

• Music and dance; and,

• Bull roasting;
