Inter-faculty Schools Debate
Nkumba University Students' Guild in partnership with Nkumba Debate Union (NDU) and the Students for Liberty Nkumba Chapter are organising an Inter-Faculty Debate Tournament, scheduled for Tuesday,25th May 2021.
This tournament will feature participation by all faculties/schools in the university, under the theme: The Position of Human Rights and Liberties at Times of Crisis." The format of the debate shall be the British Parliamentary Debate format. We shall need four (4) teams from each faculty, this will make up a
total of eight (8) students representing each faculty.
There will be prizes to be won. The winning faculty, will bag a trophy while the winning team (students) will pocket a whopping cash prize of shillings 200,000 . All participants will be awarded with certificates of participation, and all faculties Will also be awarded with certificates of participation. There will also be a prestigious award for the overall best Debater too. And lastly, all teams that will make it to finals shall be awarded with medals of excellence.
NDU and Students; for Liberty will also provide training and adequate preparation for all the teams that will be participating. We shall train the basics of the format, argumentation and all that you may need to stand out at the tournament.
The purpose for this communication is to call upon all representative, Members of Parliament and any other persons representing the different schools/faculties to organize their eight (8) participants and submit their names to the Organizing Committee (Org.Com) before closure of business on Friday 14th May 2021.

Note: We shall commence training for the teams that will have submitted themselves by COB Tuesday
