Scholarship Opportunities
At Nkumba University, we are committed to providing access to quality education for all, regardless of background or circumstances. To sustainably achieve this, we have onboarded partners including Cyber School Technologies Limited, MasterCard Foundation, and others.
It is through these partnerships that we are able to offer various scholarship opportunities to support students who demonstrate academic excellence and talent but are financially incapacitated to fully or partially foot their academic expenses.
Scholarship Categories
- Sports Scholarship
Awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional talent in sports, this scholarship offers a half to full tuition bursary. Established in 2000, this program has benefited over 1,500 graduates.
- District-Based Scholarship
We offer partial study scholarships to five students from each district in Uganda who are admitted to our degree programs. This opportunity is open to first-year students pursuing a Bachelor’s program, with a scholarship package covering up to 18% of tuition. Since its inception in 2005, this program has supported over 100 beneficiaries.
Application forms for the District-Based Scholarship can be obtained from the District Education Office in your respective district.
- Cyber School – Mastercard Foundation Uganda eLearning Initiative Scholarship.
This category targets young girls and women, refugees, and students with disabilities who face financial constraints. The scholarship covers tuition, functional fees, accommodation, and upkeep, as well as providing assistive devices, psychosocial support, and mentorship.
Eligibility:
Applicants in this category are vulnerable young girls or women pursuing STEM courses, students with disabilities, and refugees not benefiting from other scholarship programs.
