  1. Software Developer: With a Diploma in Information Systems and Technology, individuals can become software developers and create software applications, systems, and websites. They may also develop in-house systems for companies as well as work on public facing web sites.
  2. Network Administrator: Network administrators work in medium and large companies, taking care of computer networks and their hardware and software. They ensure that all systems are secure, stable, and compliant with industry regulations.
  3. Database Administrator: Database administrators maintain, secure, and update databases. They also create and maintain database security, backup systems, and recovery procedures.
  4. Systems Analyst: System analysts analyze existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and suggest changes. They also give advice and support to the implementation of the changes.
  5. Technical Support: Technical support professionals help computer users with any issues they may have. They can provide support in hardware and software, and they work in both customer service and technical roles.

Course Modules

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants for Diploma programmes should hold:
  1. A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with a minimum of 5 passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
  2. Uganda Advanced Level Certificate (UACE) with at least one Principal Pass, and 2 subsidiary passes obtained at the same sitting or its equivalent.
    Or 
  3. A certificate obtained after 2 years of post UCE study from a recognized institution;
    Or
  4. Any equivalent Certificate besides UCE and UACE from a recognized institution.
