International conference on Governance
We are excited to invite you to ICGLST25 organized by Nkumba University (Uganda) in collaboration with Mzumbe University ( Tanzania) and University of Johanesburg (South Africa), where scholars, scientists, practitioners and thought leaders will gather to explore the pivotal role of management and governance in driving socio-economic transformation. This year’s conference theme is “Advancing Knowledge for Social Economic Transformation in a Dynamic and Global Digital World,” focuses on the critical intersection of management, governance, and digital innovation in shaping our global future.
The rapid change in digital technologies is reshaping societies, economies and governance systems worldwide. As the world struggles with complex challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change and political instability, the potential of digital technologies to drive positive social transformation has never been more potent. The International Conference on Governance, Leadership and Social Transformation (ICGLST) aims at exploring how knowledge can be harnessed to navigate this dynamic and complex landscape.
Background
Building on the foundation that was laid by the first conference, which focused Advancing Knowledge for Social Transformation in a Dynamic Global World, this event will dig deeper into the role of digital technologies in driving social change. By bringing together leading experts, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society representatives, we seek to foster critical dialogue, share best practices, and develop innovative strategies for leveraging digital tools to address pressing global challenges.
The ICGLST25 will be hosted by Nkumba University (Uganda) in collaboration with the University of Johannesburg (South Africa) and Mzumbe University (Tanzania). The first conference, held in Tanzania in 2023, focused on “Advancing Knowledge for Social Transformation in a Dynamic Global World.” Building on the success of the inaugural event, ICGLST25 will expand its scope to explore the specific implications of digital transformation for social change.
The conference is held on a rotational basis every two years, with the first conference held in 2023 hosted by Mzumbe University in Tanzania, and the next edition scheduled for June 2025 in Uganda. This format allows for continuity and sustainability, while also enabling each host country to contribute its unique perspectives and expertise.
