Assoc. Prof. Asiimwe Solomon Muchwa

Solomon is a Ugandan academic. He is an international relations and security studies scholar, a Social Research, Community, Security and Development Management Specialist. He has over 15 years of teaching at University and hands-on experience in community social, security and economic development.
He has worked closely with Government, Civil Society and the Private Sector. He has built reasonable expertise and greater interest in the following international relations, security, development and management processes: human security analysis, participatory development and research, inclusive social and economic development(with gender disability, refugees, minority-groups perspectives), project social impact assessment, gender programming and mainstreaming, societal social and economic resilience, community projects design and
management, baseline and impact evaluation studies and teaching at a University level.

He is engaged in teaching and research at a University level. Currently he is the Director of Postgraduate Studies and Research at Nkumba University. Solomon holds; a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies, a Master of Science in Security Sector Management, a Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomatic Studies, BA (Hons) Upper second and a Diploma in Education. He also holds; a Certificate in Legislative Process and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Research and Writing Skills. His ambition is to generate and impart knowledge and to serve humanity.

Over the years, Solomon has mustered excellent management skills including: Social mobilization, Coordination, Negotiation, Training and capacity building,
Communication, multitasking, Reporting and presentation Skills. He appreciates social diversity and is accomplished to working independently and in teams to efficiently achieve planned objectives. He pays attention to details and is able to engage professionally with multi-skilled teams and experts.

  • Attended an international Seminar: The Uganda 2009-2016 APRM reports: What does the future hold? 01 November 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel, Kampala. Organised by the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) based in South Africa. I discussed two papers: “Calling a Spade a Spade? Electoral Conflict in the APRM reporting” and “Types of conflict in Africa: How do the APRM reports address conflict?”
